I found this diary effect being taught by this YouTuber. I don't think it is his own method, so if you know who the original creator is and where I can purchase the effect, please let me know. I know that merely knowing the secret doesn't teach the real "magic", but this method is in my opinion one I want to add to my act.

I vaguely remember Harry Lorayne having something to do with it. Whether this is based on Harry's handling or not I'm not sure.
