My daughter has just started showing an interest in magic. She got a cheapo magic kit with a thumb tip but obviously it’s far too big. I bought a Vernet finger tip but even then, it seems designed for an adult magician’s sausage fingers! Anyone know where I can find a skinny little tip for a child’s thumb?

If you actually find the right size, the problem would be finding a silk small enough to work but not look ridiculously small. Some Cigar tubes are flesh colored and I've used them (cut down and smoothed ) for die tubes. Remember you do need some room for the load and if directed in the right way, it does not have to match size or color perfectly.

There is a mini Quad silk trick that has some tiny silks. Perhaps someone here knows a searchable name.

Best of luck. I wish I'd started young.

If you google "thumb tip for children" there are some options. Some years ago I had some very small thumb tips for children so they do exist. The company Vernet offers the products Thumb Tip Vernet Junior and Little Finger Tip Vernet, maybe one of them hast he right size. Maybe send en email to Vernet and ask them for the right thumb tip. From my point of view producing a small silk is no problem. Of course a bigger silk is better, but a good performcance is always impressive, even with a small silk. Good luck.

Another idea is to use a TT streamer. David Ginn and others sell them (he sells 40" and 72" versions).

Two of the 40" will fit into an adult sized TT, so I assume one streamer would fit into a child sized TT.

The "6th Finger"prop is thinner than regular thumb tips. Maybe get one, cut to the right length and smoothe out the edges?

Keep in mind you can cut the streamers to any size and use liquid stitch from a craft or fabric store to seal the cut edge. I use half of a 40" one and call it a ribbon in my show.
