Hi everyone!
I would like to ask if there is any chance that after his passing some of Mr Ortiz's books will be reprinted as they were in the past. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is actively looking for some of his works (such as Cardshark or Scams & Fantasies) not to mention the general demand for his life's work. So if anyone could chime in with any kind of information on the topic it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

Actively looking?
You must be finding as well as all his books are available. What's stopping you from buying? |

As an example, right now I am actively seeking a copy of Carney Uncovered which is looong out of print, kind of obscure. So far I've only found one copy online. I may buy it but I'd like to compare the shipping to at least one other seller, but no luck yet.
Anyways, Balazs, I wish you the best of luck sir, they are great books. Respectfully and fraternally, Fish |

One can get a copy, sure, but not everyone wants/has the budget to pay a pretty penny for it. Reprints are cheaper. Simple as that.

Are you speaking for the OP?
Are you %100 percent sure that's his or her opinion? It may very well be, which is why I asked, but over the years I've learned that assumptions can be a dangerous thing. Age/wisdom, all that. Anyway, all the best everyone. |

Thank you Fish and Mike for your input! I do actively search for those two (especially for Cardshark) and I'm mainly asking around about the possibility of the reprint because of the reasons mentioned above by Mike. The thing is that I have already checked out some available copies on eBay but unfortunately, most of the options are a bit pricy for my budget. (Partly because I'm living in Europe and the shipping cost can sometimes be as high as half of the price of the actual book.) E.g. I'm still reluctant to pay $130 (+$29 shipping) for a book that retailed for only $50 a year ago :/ Although, of course, if there isn't any other option (with a possible reprint or whatsoever) I have to suck it up and deal with it...

You got that straight. That's why I pointed yours out. Nothing personal.
But we heard from the OP what his reason was. I asked a question, he answered it. Something tells me you joined in for a different reason... But You know what happens when one assumes... |

@Balazs:
I wish I'd known sooner, I could've sold you my copies for a good price. It's funny, I had a bunch of OOP books set aside for sale, but now that I'm home recovering from Injury, Im going through them all again and rediscovering old favourites. I wish my reasons were different, but it's nice having magic at the forefront again. Cheers. |
