Looking for an effect in which magician and spectator has 5 cards each.

Spectator follows magicians move but in his pack always a card ends face up or face down. I know the working, but looking for the source, please

And any other do as I do (comic based) routines to look for, please

"Vernon's Variant" from Ultimate Secrets of Card Magic is a version with four cards.
