Does anybody know who originally designed the method employed to instantly switch the painting at the end of Steve Wyrick's Artist's Dream routine? https://youtu.be/37XHO1x4xp4?si=r7EI71wDvNgtbin-

This performer appears to use a similar method, although on a bulkier scale and less convincingly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_7FaG-NcQg&t=255s

Am I right in thinking this is done using r****r b****s? I purchased Osbourne's Artist's Studio plans a while back but it describes a very different method which doesn't allow for such an instant transformation.

If I were to guess I would say you’re on the right track

Thanks. Do you know who produces the plans for this design? There are many variations and I don't know where to look (e.g. Steinmeyer?).

I don't see anything on his website to suggest he designed or built it. Really I'm looking for the source where this illusion and its method was originally described. Viktor Voitko's Magic Canvas appears to use a similar mechanism.

I would suggest looking at Jarrett's Magic and Stage Craft. I think that describes the same method.
