Further Than That it uses the 10-20 forcing, but if the spectator were to choose the number 20, how do you behave?

If you ask for a number between 10 and 20, the vast majority of people will assume you mean inclusive rather than exclusive. (I know because I've tested this!)
Most will choose a number in the teens; but occasionally someone will choose 10 or 20, to make things a bit more interesting. I don't think it creates a good impression to insist on your narrow definition of "between"; nor to suddenly decide that 20 is too high after all. (And 10 is too low???) My advice is to be prepared for both these options. I can think of several ideas you might like - but am reluctant to post in this public area of the forum. Maybe start a thread in the secret area? |

You always have to have an out because if something can happen at some point it surely will. You could just count the first 'ten' cards from hand to hand, place the pile on the table and continue counting more deliberately one at a time onto the pile until you reach 20. Needless to say the first 10 were false counted so in reality you only counted out 9 so that when you get to 20 it is really the 19th card.

You could always just change the trick and then do a different find a card trick. If I do a force, I always try to have another out in case something goes wrong so that it doesn’t look like I messed up.

The ending of this effect is to produce a royal flush but NOT all spectators may know the poker scores - do you have any ideas for a different ending?

They don't need to understand poker to be impressed by the production of the 5 highest cards all of the same suit.
