Fantasio preforms a great routine on CBS. Here is a link to the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn5iD-4CBz4). At 2:49 in the video he preforms a great effect, "eating" what looks like cotton candy and then transforming it into what looks like stiff rope/string. I would love to know the name of this effect. I can't seem to find it on TMCF or the ConjuringArchive. Any thoughts?

Back in the day that kind of mouth coil used to be pretty common. In fact even more common was the Bubble Gum mouth coil. Worked the same way but came out a bubble gum pink color.

I haven't seen this type of coil in over a decade, but then I haven't been looking.

These might work.

good luck.

Thanks so much for the idea Harry! I hadn't thought of a Bubble Gum mouth coil, its definitely not something use see everyday!

This type of mouth coil was a staple in Chinese magic acts for decades. You can still get them from Bazar de Magia.

I like to use them as a "growing" routine in kids show with a paper covered straw like you get from McDonald's. Take the paper off straw and put in mouth. Wave a wand over mouth and then produce the mouth coil. It looks just like the straw cover Then take the coil and drop in McDonald bag along with straw. Wave the wand over it then produce a four foot giant straw from the bag.

It really works great for younger kids as plot is easy to understand and visually exciting.

Nice routine Frank!! It would be an easy story line to follow for young kids. The props are recognizable and (dare I say it?!?)organic!! Thanks for sharing!!
