Hi!

Nowadays everyone is talking about using NFC tags and many of you are very excited about this.
A topic that I have not yet seen come across is the fact that the spectator can receive a notification on his/her smart watch after using the tag.

Here in the Netherlands, there are a lot of people wearing smartwatches.
When a NFC tag is used, the owner of the phone, receives a notification on their smartwatch.

I am guessing this has nothing to do with the type of NFC tag I am using.

Is there a solution for this?
Or do you NFC tag users just first check the spectators watch?

Ciao, Roberto

That's a great call out to check to see if they owner has a smart watch on first before asking for their phone!

Also, there's no telling whether they have NFC activated. so they might get an alert or it might not work at all.

Better to register an innocuous domain and have it redirect to your app URL.

NFC tags also set off a ping noise when activated on the spectators phone? For me, this, and also their variable reliability in performances make them more of a magician’s toy than a practical solution for working conditions

It took me a whopping 9 seconds of thought to overcome the ping noise during an NFC redirection. I've used my solution many times without raising suspicion. If you have an existing bias against something, it is easy to come up with reasons not to use it.

It has taken a lot longer than 9 seconds for him to reply, almost a year! Smile
