Hi Everyone,

Quick question: what is the biggest and the best NFC tag which you know or use for various effects and Apps?

The best I was able to find was 84 mm x 45 mm inlay. It can be read by a modern phone at the distance of 2-4 cm, as well as incorporated into a standard playing card.

May be you know tag/inlay with bigger (antenna) size ?

Thank you in advance.

I have some small ones I've used. There are some good rectangular ones probably similar to what you've found.

Hi Grr555,

Andrew and I did a Webinar on using NFC tags in Magic, I have copied the link below.

We will our NFC inlays here https://illuminati-magic.com/collections......fid-tags (We get around 110mm read range with our Reader on these and the Smartphones get around 45-50mm read range).

Which NFC tag to use and which reader to use is dependant upon what you wanting to acheive and which products you are using.

The range is dependant upon the NFC Reader, the protocol you use and the NFC antenna size.

ISO14443A and ISO15693 are the two most common NFC protocols in the magic community.

The inbuilt NFC Reader on the Smartphones have a limted range, whereas the dedicated NFC Readers

Please send me a PM and I can point you in the right direction.

I personally like these, for me the size is perfect to put in my front shirt pocket of front pants pocket, it provides a nice big target Smile
