Finally Nightmare Alley will be in UK cinemas this weekend.
I’ve waited so long for this I hope it lives up to expectations

The original (1947) in full format is available to stream on Youtube. What a wonderful film the original was, I am going to be first in line to see the new one.

Fallen Angel (a film noir Starring Dana Andrews) starts with a subplot of Andrews shilling for a fake psychic played by John Carradine.

And don't forget the 1951 Bowery Boys flick: Ghost Chasers.

Tons of psychic shenanigans!

Well, I finally got around to seeing the “ new” Nightmare Alley.
Definitely was not disappointed. Did I like it better than the original? Almost. But not quite. However I loved it for different reasons. Anyway a definite thumbs up! 👍

I still say the original was the best, I feel they dropped the ball on this one.

There is a UK TV series called "Inside Number Nine" series 5 episode 4 is called "Misdirection" and is a must watch for any mentalist. Series 2 episode 12 (which I haven't seen) is called "Seance Time" and is on my 'to get' list.

I agree. Was expecting disappointment but have to say, they made a great job of it. Not better than the original but certainly on a par.

Had not heard of this one so TYVM. Andrews is a favourite of mine, loved "Night of the demon" and watch it often.

Papa,

I'm a big fan of Inside No 9. Wish it was more readily available in the states. A modern "Twilight Zone." Those two episodes you mention are favorites, but so many more great ones!

Wish they'd release an American Region Blue Ray.
