Thanks to whoever revived this thread! Some great answers! Don't know what it's called, or who shared it... but my favorite mentalism "Strolling" piece is a Crown Royal bag with 7 Black Stones, and 1 Clear Stone. It's the "Diamond". Everyone at the table gets to participate, and pick a stone. I determine who got the Diamond. (Holdout) I can do almost a whole set around it. And it kills every time. Anybody know what it's called? Any history on the effect?

The effect your are describing is Max Maven's "Kurotsuke".

I've posted this elsewhere but not on this thread (I don't think).

Just as a challenge, I once worked an entire ballroom with a memorized deck, a post-it pad and a super-sharpie

It was a dinner show with lots of kids, so I'd have the kids throw up fingers to "read my mind" and tell me what number I just wrote (Super Sharpie & Post-It pad)

For grown-ups, I'd do Alain Nu's handling of ACAAN, building up how amazing it'd be to find THAT card at THAT number during the count-down

In both cases, I made it a point to attribute everything to the spectator's amazing abilities

I think that last part is what made it all work. But talk about traveling light!

Awesome transition ringmaster!

Thanks for reminding me why I typically disdain this kind of mentalist, even though I loved Patrick Jane.

I like to use Luke Jermays E.I. - but not the way he performs it.

Aheller5,

I don’t know for sure but I believe it is OMG by Sean Goodman. Not sure where you purchase it. Maybe his website?

Hi guys - thanks for the kind comments about my OMG effect. It’s my own effect, designed obviously with my photo….. I’ve created a similar effect which many other magicians have used, which is available from me - hope you like this as well. Feel free to drop me a pm as I don’t want to discuss methods openly here;
