I just finished watching it five minutes ago and let me say this: IF YOU DON"T LIKE THIS DVD, you don't like performing for real audiences in real situation.

Top notch PRACTICAL, STRONG, DIRECT, Sankey-style magic in here.
If you work restaurants/bars, I DARE YOU TO SAY you can't find AT LEAST one item here that will go IMMEDIATELY to your repretoire tonight.

Sankey has a lot of tricks that inspires tipping (whether you think accepting tips is a good or bad thing is up to you.. but Sankey did himself said "most of the tips you recieve go to your wait staff" in the "Being a team player" section I think...), his advices for "how to land a gig" was basically THE ONE SECTION I bought this DVD for...

What can I say? if you want strong magic? Get this,The blackpool effect is worth the price of the DVD.
If you want advices for getting restaurants+keeping the gig, this whole DVD is what you need.

Hopefully this will arrive tomorrow. So what is the effect of the Blackpool effect?

Back to Blackpool Effect: does the effect involve writing down a prediction on a card? Just curious as I saw Jay do a trick at a magic convention that I really liked but don't know the name of it.

Cfrancis, the Blackpool effect is that a prediction is written on the back of an indifferent card ( you announce and show "jack of diamonds" for instance. With the deck face up, any card is named. The prediction is shown to be the card they named and then BAM it turns into the card. Verrrry cool.

Yep. That's the effect! I loved it when I saw it. Very cool. I was wondering if it was on one of his previous dvds or if it would be on an upcoming one. Happy to read he's released this.

Sounds like Snowstorm. It's sold as an individual effect.

I did the blackpool effect tonight at work .... SLLLAAYYYYEEEEDDD EVERYONE.
Definite closer material.

This along with Sankey's "back in time" go to my top 5 of all time and I know a lot of magic..

This dvd is very, very good. The advice is terrific. Made me reconsider a bit of what I do. The effects are strong.

Why is this DVD so hard to find elsewhere? I don't see any major dealers carrying it. Sankey's website is one of the worst sites I ever navigated, and is a nightmare for someone using dial up.

Only a few shops are Sankey Magic dealers. Hank Lee has it. So does Ellusionist, mjmmagic and Daytona Magic should be carrying it as they are a Sankey dealer.

Sankey's site doesn't work well on dial up. When I was still using dial up, I couldn't view it. No problem to navigate it now that I have dsl.

Sankley's site stinks evene with high speed. Just poorly cerated.

I did a search at Hank's previously, but it didn't turn up. Course the search engine there us also somewhat crappy. I will check again, and at the other places. What is with all those stupid unfolding boxes on Sankey's site? It is bad enough I find him annoying, but now his website too. Maybe he just likes to annoy. Thanks.

I personally have not had any trouble navigating his site on dsl. The unfolding boxes look pretty slick. But I agree that it might be a little too much.

The blackpool effect on sankey's new dvd sounds exactly like "storm force 7" found on martin sanderson's "Corporate Close up" dvd.
