I agree Mark Mason is not only the best demo man in the business but a truly lovely person too.
I wish Mark and Chris every success with this, I believe every card magician would find great value in it Gaz 😊

Thank you for your answer. When will the parlour size presumably be available?

I'm not involved in the production side at all, best drop Mark Mason a line, I imagine very early in the New Year.

Chris, I'm wondering if the parour unit could switch out a Mcabee ring?

These have a diameter of approximately 7cm and are approx 4mm thick.

I've been looking for a good switching device for these for years...!

Great idea but sadly not. The dimensions might just be OK but a circular object would likely slip past the mechanism. Things to be switched need to be rectangular.

Hi, I received mine a couple of days ago and it also broke after 5 minutes of use. Quite disappointing and this could not happen on a professional situation because it's almost impossible to finish the trick without removing the device.

For those of you who had the same problem have you changed the line with a stronger one ? Or maybe a ribbon could do a better job ?

I'm wondering if these are defective units, or is there a wider problem?

Do get in touch with Mark Mason direct about this, he assembles them all himself and he would be keen to monitor any failures. He can also guide you on the best line to use.

I have one and it is not broken and works perfectly.
Although, if I look at the thickness of you know, then I hold my heart.
It's VERY thin...

I wonder why they didn't use the same fishing line as V1?

I wonder why it doesn't use something wider - a ribbon or band of material

Who knows the origin of the first trick Mark Mason does on the switch-a-two explanation download? Is it his own or has the trick been around longer?
(swap two pairs of cards between magician and spectator. In the end they are 4 different cards)

This is Dr. Daley’s last trick which Vernon included in his 1957 book “The Dai Vernon Book of Magic”

Cheers!

I can give some specific information on this. The thread needs to be light, thin and supple, the monofilament fishing line in the production units has a breaking strain of 2.5kg, my earliest prototypes had thread below 1kg strength and never broke. It is worth focusing on the anchoring if you ever have to rethread.

Even more important than the breaking strain is the diameter of the thread, no thicker than 0.14mm is ideal. The thread supplied is 0.12mm

This detail is important so the cards fall freely, rather than needing to be pushed. It is this light action that makes the switch so deceptive.

One question for those who own it: Where was the thread attached to? I am trying to repair it but can’t remember. Maybe someone could drop me a PM

The second to last video 're-threading your unit' in the instructions explains everything.

Strange, the instructions I have does not include that video.
