What do you all recommend as a great trick using a box of Tic Tacs?

Is this the same as the one in Paul Harris's Art of Astonishment 3? Sound like "Tic-Tac" from AoA3.

The short of it is: "Coin in the bottle done with a dime and a box of Tic Tacs." Basically a dime is seen to penetrate a box of tic tacs.

Are you a big tic tac user? It's a funny question to me since I don't see many boxes of tic tacs going around these days (even though I know people still use and buy them!). Care to give some background?

I was looking for something impromtu to do with an everyday object. I purchased Richard Sander's Ultra Gum and it got me thinking of what other effects might be out there that could be done in an ordinary setting with friends or co-workers with everyday objects. Tic Tacs just came to mind, thought I'd see if there were any effects worth pursuing in that area. Got any other suggestions?

Background for the Bob Chesbro trick is, he invented and sold a coin in clear vue lighter years ago. The lighter went off the market, and after many years he started making the coin in Tic Tac container.

The Tic Tac trick is available at Magic Methods.

http://www.magicmethodsonline.com/cup.html Scroll down a little on the page.

Good news, Bob Chesbro has come out with a new coin in lighter trick. Looks like it now uses a throw away butane lighter.

I come up with a nice handling for the coin in lighter that was never explained by Chesbro. Tom Gagnon wrote a treatise on the coin in lighter as well years ago when it came out.

Fresh Mint by Cameron Francis is a verry good one. It's a signed bill (or playing card) to a 'Tic tac box', check it out.

Marcus Eddie has a fantastic coin thru tic tac box on the dvd FIVE put out by himself along with Daniel Garcia. DG also teaches a mentalism effect done with the actual tic tacs on the dvd. I think Marcus' coin thru is definately worth a look at.

If you're into rubber bands there's a great trick called Stairway on this dvd also.

It may be in Art of Astonishment but I would have to look it up. It is, however, on a DVD called Catapult put out by Brian Platt. That is a most excellent DVD if you do not have it and that effect is one of my favorites.
