Does anyone know if there are plans in the works for some/all of Paul Harris' work to be released on DVD (i.e. Stars of Magic tapes and Art of Astonishment)?

Paul is actually shooting DVD's now encompassing a lot of his work. I believe he is set to release a 10 DVD set later this year.

I am not sure... I beleive this is something between Paul and possibly AOI Magic. I am sure you will hear more later on this year regarding these DVDs.

Paul at last conversation was hoping the news wouldn't get out for a while....

I met Rodney from AOI in Vegas and he said he was directing something with Paul that would come out in the not too distant future.

I can't wait. This man has so many good ideas you start to have self-doubt in your own creativity. Everytime I read the AoA books I feel that he has these really really good ideas, very artistic man.

Syd and Adam are correct. I've also heard that AOI Magic is shooting a 10 dvd set with Paul Harris. Last I heard it was almost done and they were hoping to release in Spring or Summer of 2005. (I got the information from my local IBM Ring Monthly Newsletter--It was in a summary of an inteview conducted with Rodney from AOI Magic. But that was back in October or November, and I haven't heard any new rumors.)
I've just been sitting tight, hoping Paul or AOI make an official announcement sometime soon.

Must be a nice experience to watch Paul do his weird magic.

I thought Paul is retired already, but I guess it's nice to have him back. Is he still doing shows or workshop maybe..?

For those interested... the dvd's will consist of about 50% new stuff that Paul
is excited about and 50% of older effects that have been overhauled, so basically, you might see familiar effects, but they will have improved handling or plot. There's no set list yet as to what will and won't be on them. As for the timeframe <hopefully> within a year, but nothing cast in stone.....

A few questions for anyone willing to help:

Is there anywhere on the net where I can find updates on this set of dvd's?

Will it contain old stuff that's not in art of astonishment?

Any estimations on the price? (I presume around $250)

Should I hold off my purchase for Art of Astonishment and wait for these?

No. Buy AOA as surely the DVDs won't contain all the goodies in the AOA books.

I think I agree also the dvd's will probably compliment the books well. But could anyone please answer the other questions.

Thanks

Wow. This is one of the greatest things I have ever heard. I love Paul Harris' material. After my next big purchase I will save up to buy these no matter what.
