I purchased this nesting box set quite some time ago as I was most interested in the leather case.
Does anyone know who might have made this or the time period? It has a single loop on one side which makes me think it was for a traveling magician so it could hang on their wagon old horse drawn wagon. (Or at least that's what I'd like to imagine) Click here to view attached image. |

Hard to tell from the photos but it looks like a Berg nest of boxes. The leather case could have been added to protect in transport. This was probably made in the 1940's or 1950's.

Thank you for the reply. I've looked at Joe Berg's boxes but haven't seen this particular style box.
The original reason I spotted this was because of the nice leather travel case. I don't know if it was made for the boxes, or the boxes made to fit the case. I tried uploading a clearer photo but it was too large. |
