With some of the great magic releases this year, I'm going to have to sew my wallet shut! Some of you know what a picky son of a stitch I can be so pay heed. After having owned or used every Bow Saw Illusion on the market, and having basically never been completely satisfied, I have finally reached Bow Saw Nirvana!
I saw the add for Wellington Enterprises new “The Executive Sawing Perfected” on their web site and in the latest issue of Steven’s Magic flyer. Having decided never to buy another illusion without having some hands on up close and personal, I hopped in my car and traveled the hour and a half to Wellington Enterprises to see this great improvement to the illusion that has been breaking my heart for years. My expectation was that I would see more of the same and be saved the $4500. Darn you, Bill Schmeelk, DARN YOU! This is THE Bow Saw Illusion. It is beautifully crafted and powder cote finished and is diabolically clever in it’s mechanism. The gaff is flawless and oh so deceptive. When I looked at the blade I wondered, “Where’s the gaff?” When the affable and pleasant Bill Schmeelk, demonstrated the device the blood drained out of my body and the money out of my bank account. This illusion is hands down the best version of the Bow Saw on the market. It is a true one-man illusion workable under surrounded conditions with the assistance of an audience member the gimmick is invisible from right on top of the blade and Bill has thought of everything in terms of making this a workable piece. This is going into my Nightclub act, my Stage act and my Banquet Act, heck if I did kids birthday parties it would go into that, of course to saw an adult. If you’ve ever wanted to add an illusion to your show or even worked any other version and weren’t completely satisfied. This is the way to go. I wouldn’t wait too long, because anyone who sees this and can afford it will be snapping these up like hotcakes, seriously. http://www.wellingtonent.com/document/execsaw.html Believe me when I tell you, the picture doesn’t even come close to doing this justice. Do ya think I like it? Yes, yes I do!

I had the good fortune to see this at the SAM National Convention and Bill Schmeelk was kind enough to walk me through the entire operation of this prop. I would have to agree. This is the finest version of this illusion to ever hit the magic market. Having owned almost every model made from the highly touted Owen to the shameful models made by some guys I've never even heard of, there is no question that Bill really thought this one out completely. I have a few posts on another thread regarding an item called, The Final Answer, where my conclusion is that the prop is not that at all...however, in this case, Bill Schmeelk's version of this is truly the Final Answer to this illusion.

His head chopper is a work of art, also his Wakeling Sawing is like fine furniture. I have seen them all first hand, I live about a half an hour form his place. Great Builder.

It's in my metaphorically hot little hands, and I couldn't be more pleased. Every detail is perfect. I also was able to see the Wellington Chopper and Wakeling Sawing. The workmanship on these items is stellar. I must say some of the nicest I've seen if not the nicest.

Please describe this effect (Executive Bow Saw Illusion) in more detail. I visited the site and there's really no description of the routine.
I am not yet well versed in illusion systems. My main illusion for years has been the buzz saw thru the neck comedy piece. Do you separate the two table halves to show the volunteer "divided"? I suppose not since there are no crates to cover the volunteer's body parts. Please confirm. Many thanks.

I had the pleasure of seeing this at MAGIC Live and it's a wonderful piece of work. All the problems of prior versions are pretty much solved with this one. Knowing the workings of the original Harbin illusion, this one is light years beyond the original method.
Well worth the investment if you're in the market for this effect. Jeremy |

How would this version compare to the Bruce Chadwick model.
