Many years ago I remember coming across a suspension/levitation effect that I can’t seem to find anymore. In this illusion, the magician picks up his assistant and she lays out flat while in his arms. He then lets her go and she is floating directly in front of him. There’s no platform involved. You could do the effect without any other props. Without revealing too much, I believe that there was some serious strength required to perform the illusion well, and that both magician and assistant had to wear a special something.
Jonathan and Charlotte pendragon did something similar on one of the (iirc) champions of magic specials, only their levitation was also an appearance. A tubular cloth was spread out in front of Jonathan and when it was pulled away Charlotte appeared levitating in front of Jonathan.
Any leads or info on this illusion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
