When it comes right down to it isn’t pretty much everyone (With a few notable exceptions.) living in modern times, ALL THE TIME?

My case may be unique, then...

First off can’t have two unique cases.

I suspect a hundred years from now magic will have adapted to keep up with the times. It's already done so a number of times down the centuries, from the ancient days of priests, to the jongleurs in the Middle Ages, to the "Professors" in the 19th Century, to illusionists in the 20s to 40s, to the current spate of close-up workers and one-trick-pony manipulators. Hopefully it will also have become more relevant to its times.
