Hi,
I have a friend who is just getting into magic.
I wanted him to learn an old Jay Sandy trick that I think is called cut here.
You look at spectator and then draw something on piece of paper and then say you screwed up and bunch it up and discard.
You have them tell you where to cut through a list of words on a slip of paper that is facing you.
You then join the cut paper and show it has been cut at specific word.
you pick up discarded paper and show that its a drawing of what you cut through.
I think its called cut through and came from dvd of his.
Can anyone tell me what its called and where to get it?

You are looking for Director's Cut. It is on the Hemispheres DVD. It can also be found in print in The Definitive Sankey Vol 2.
You can probably find similar versions in other Sankey products.

I'm pretty sure Director's Cut was also on Jay's "Best Magic With Ordinary Objects" DVD. Instead of the prediction being on the crumpled up paper, the actual object is physically removed from an envelope (which was introduced at the beginning: "to contain something inside").

It's a variation of an old mentalism principle called "Clip line"
