i recently found out David blaine is to do a Vegas show for the first time,
He's scheduled for 6 shows at resorts world, starting September 30th.

I most likely won't be there, but if anyone is there at the time it might
be interesting.

As I write this, tickets seem to start around $100.

It might be interesting? I have never thought that about his work.

Apparently the resorts world theater has 5000 seats, pretty big for
a close up guy, according to the press he'll be performing stunts
of some sort as well.

Taken together, this could end up ranging from "boring" all the
way to "unexpectedly making the news"

so I think it could be "interesting"
(still not paying $100 to see it though)

He transitioned out of close up magic to stunts a while ago.

I hope he does well and fills the place. He certainly brings a lot of visibility to the art.

I'm a big fan, delighted he is doing well. I actually caught his stage show in Dublin a few years back. It was ok. The general audience seemed to love it and other magicians there were gushing about his performance. Have to say for me personally I found it a bit dull. Each to their own though!

If it's anything like his touring show, it'll be good. Curious to hear what his show sounds like at a residency. Looks like he's only doing 1 weekend a month (2 shows?) for X number of months. This makes me assume he'll do his physical stunts/tricks, like the frog regurgitation and end the shows with the breath hold.

This one moment, alone, cemented him as one of the all-time greats, lol:

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
