I am in my early 50's. For a very long time, I have been interested in puppets, but haven't quite been able to make anything come to fruition. Major question: Anyone know of any books that discuss making scenery, backdrops or staging for puppet shows?
His face isn't really this long in-person!

I guess you mean puppet shows as opposed to vent. I do vent, recently I though about doing puppet shows. They seem like a lot more work and time for set-up, etc, and might be tricky to do without another puppeteer. Also, the amount I make now would probably be more per day than if I did puppet shows, figuring in set-up time and adding another person, etc, but I might be wrong. I know you can buy ready made portable puppet stages online. There are puppet forums on Facebook.

Kukla Fran and Ollie was a good single person puppet show. Fran was an nice extra. Once in a while I would come around my punch and judy type stage with one hand in a puppet on stage and do vent. Wish I was computer literate enough to show you my puppet show in the 50's - 80's. Now 85, 75 years in Puppets, Vent. Magic (resting). I could send a 1960 Puppet photo (it's also in Ken Griffins Book,'Illusion Show Know how') - pm or email me your address. Ralph ROUSSEAU (russo70248@yahoo.com)
