I got a book simply titled "card tricks" by a professor romanoff, 1916, at a yard sale some time back.
I consider it one of the best magic books in my possession. But there is not an about the author.

I haven't heard of a professor romanoff outside of this book, does anyone know who he is or
a first name?

I Google'd 'Professor Romanoff - Magician' - a few things/videos came up - don't know if the same.

According to Bart Whaley in Who's Who in Magic, Professor Romanoff is the stage name of Carlton B. Case.

Carlton .B case? that's interesting, in the for sale by the publisher section
At the back of the book nearly every listing has a "Carlton B. case" as
editor or author.

I assume he owned or was high ranked in the company and used his stage
name for the magic book.

Thanks for the information.

More intrigue:
"Seems to be mostly the same book as the Professor R. Kunard "The Book of Card Tricks" (listed at this site separately). Perhaps the professor's full name is Romanoff Kunard?"
