Although I was unable to attend the world's largest magic convention in Blackpool, England, this year, I did have a U.K. magician visit with me on this week's episode of The Magic Word. Jamie Allen is known as the iMagician and the "High Tech Houdini" who brings magic into today's age using modern technology. His stage show is unlike traditional magic shows and even some of the classics in magic (i.e. sawing in half, sub trunk, and the zig-zag) have all been updated with original twists and video introductions that give some entertaining and historical background on some of those effects. He also uses Augmented Reality (A/R) to perform some of his close-up effects that are projected on the big overhead screens. He talks a lot about the challenges of keeping current without his audience suspecting his methods. He also talks about working cruise ships and touring with a big illusion show.

You can download and listen to this episode wherever you get your podcasts. But you can always get additional material from the website at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/scot......ie-allan

And while you are at the website, please sign up for our weekly pod-letter to keep updated on who is on each week with a preview of who's coming up next week.
