I picked up this interesting nic-nac at a thrift store today for $2.25 ! Sure looked like a houlette, fits the cards too ! So can some one give me a lead on best way to convert this item for rising cards?
I plan to put a pair of horizontal black dowels in front and back so cards are held. Maybe also a small platform in / at the bottom so cards are raised closer to top , that platform could afford some help in producing the effect. TIA ! Click here to view attached image. |

To add more info. I know a lot of houlettes are not gimmicked. I know the old methods as in Hoffmann's Modern Magic and More Magic which I have owned for awhile. I'm seeking mainly sources for new and more modern methods etc. and advice before I drill and modify that piece and possibly make a "mistake" that I might regret and have to undo !
