I am using the plans in Paul Osborne's books for "Comedy: Sawing a Woman in 1/2"

This will be my first project in creating a stage effect, so it will be full of trial and error.

My question to you guys is what type of base should I use? He mentioned no base in there, but I know it uses one. I just don't know if I just use a basic one or what. I can get the box portion done easily I think...but it is going to be the base that is confusing.
