Mikame's Rope Blackboard uses a 1/4" or about 6 mm braided cotton magicians style rope with the core removed to fit the groove. There was no guidance on where to purchase replacement rope. I plan on using the Blackboard to produce the rope to be used in the rest of the routine, so I need a source to replenish it.

Baronian Trading Co has an 8 mm or 5/16" but I am not sure this will fit.

Any one have the prop that can give me some direction?

I don't have this prop, but I would like to advise, if you have not thought of it, being your effect is from Japan, have you looked on www.seomagic.com for your rope. They also have the effect in stock, maybe they can advise you or supply the rope you seek. The do have a 7mm rope on their website. Just a thought.

www.murphysmagic.com is the wholesaler in the U.S., they may have some advice as well. They have helped others with instructions, so maybe they can advise concerning replacement rope.

Thanks Bill. I have heard from Baronian Trading Co and he is sending me a price of 8mm rope to try. I email Seo Magic. I did talk with the seller with no positive response, but Murphy's Magic is a good lead as well. I am surprised there is not more ready information about replacement rope for this prop.

Hopefully this post will be of use to someone in the future.

Talked with SEO USA. The have the newer board. They told me Japanese magicians rope is made from thinner cotton fibers which makes the over all rope thinner and much more pliable. They tried their 10mm rope and said it fit the new style board, as well as the 7mm. It depends on if you mount the rope in the groove top and bottom or side to side.

Until I get a sample of these different types of rope to try myself I can only repeat what is being told to me.
