Hello everyone,
Which would be the best to make mirrors plexiglass or Lexan?
Also what is the best method to make it appear as a mirror. Paint the back with siver paint or paint the wood or what?

You should be able to buy acrylic mirrors at any acrylic plastics distributor.

I work at a glass shop and you can buy plexi mirrors. I have a mirror that is full body length that is like a fun house mirror. Only problem is that it scratches really easily, and you have to keep that in mind.

Making a plexi mirror is as simple as installing high quality reflective sun shield for your auto on it......with the highest reflectivity. Backing it in black close makes it regular -- no backing a one way mirror. (Got this information from the illustrious illusion builder Bill Smith who really knows his P&Qs and mirrors. GC

I've made custom mirrors from both plexiglas and regular glass. You need to find a specialist mirror company that can silver the mirrors. This is a very technical process involving depositing controlled amounts of material on the surface. I believe it is usually done in vacuum conditions. However you can create amazing effects with partially silvered mirrors that look transparent under certain lighting conditions and become mirrors with a change in lighting. these kinds of companies often make special mirrors for telescopes, etc. I found two such companies in the LA area when I need special mirrors.
