Where in the world can I find a metal ring between 4" and 5" wide? It is for a ring on rope routine, which I currently use a plastic ring for, but I think metal would be better, for the weight.

Royal Magic makes 5" Chinese linking rings fairly cheap for a set.
Toro makes a wonderful 4" ring (made for nose tissue dispensing) http://www.amazon.com/Design-Ideas-Toro-......051PSEXO
A bit on the "pricy side" but I think you will be happy you got it.

Reef Scuba carries nice brass rings. As I recall, their largest is 3" in diameter. Their site is under construction now, but you can give them a call.

Iced used their 3" brass ring for ring in rope routines.

I just found this.

It is more than I payed for mine from reef scuba but those have not been available for a while. I know from experience that a great ring is worth this much and it will last forever.

I use one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/80MM-Stainless-......195HA3PU you can find them in most boat suppliers.

They have a really nice thickness and quite visual. The weight can be a benfit but can also be a issue with pulling slip knots this can be over come buy changing your rope to something a bit more course.
Enjoy your magic,

and let others enjoy it as well!

Just to be nice, because that's how he is, Vinny marini had a set of ninja rings made for me out of thick aluminum.
Maybe you could ask how he had those done.

They would be perfect.

Not as shiny as stainless but very nice.

I have to say, there is something about the feel, weight and smell of brass. It is a treat to work with. You never have to worry about it breaking.
Don't practice barefoot. LOL
You do want to give it a quick polish (30 seconds will do it) on a high humidity day.

I use 1/4 " magician's cotton rope but smaller rope will work if that is what you have.

I really like The single ring from Uday's 6" linking ring set for Stage Ring and Rope. It may seem like a lot to pay for a single ring but I was replacing one I loved but broke so... I gifted myself. Never regretted it. It is stainless steel but the weight and size had some real advantages.
Practice over carpet, there is a weld that is smooth but can break with a good bounce on the floor. I also use them for small Stage Linking Rings so they get full use.
