I am trying to put together a show, teaching fire safety (without using fire) and anti-bullying. Having said that, are there any ideas for:
Effects for messaging, and/or books to obtain?

I know the messages, and am willing to buy and learn routines, just having a hard time thinking of what routines would be effective.

Jim Kleefeld sells a licensed show called "The No Bully Zone Program". http://www.jimkleefeld.com/JWKbooks.html

David Ginn sells a book titled "Safety Magic for Children" (author is Karl Wagner, David Ginn is publisher), that might have Fire Safety routines in it. http://www.ginnmagic.com/component/virtu......d=safety

Try "Harris" he has a lot of good youth Vent - routines -etc- I remember one about bullying - you'll have to do a little 'search' - or- e/mail him - check his profile- At78 don't perform much (have for over 65 years -when living in So. Calif. in the 50s-70s-- WIfe and I were known as "Entertainer to Children of the Stars"- big deal -L-O-L-) but glad to share - again- go to 'search' user name 'russo' Harris and I plus others have a lot in the Gospel forum. I remember there is a little brochure about magic tricks with the topic fire safety. Maybe ask in the section "Little darlings" for the title of the brochure.

I recently ran across a GREAT routine on Amazekids.com with a safety kicker at the end called "Wrong Way," and it's an arrow that points up, down, left, right, and at the end, unfolds to show a traffic cop with the face cut out and you put your face in and say something about how "if you go the wrong way, you get a ticket."
