Marlo is the first magician that pops into my head when I think about magicians that do gambling moves. The second magician that pops into my head is Jack Pyle (My Mentor). Dai Vernon is the third magician that pops into my head and the book Revelations. Also Alan Ackerman who did the DVD Expert at the card table which I consider a very, very good DVD that is on gambling moves and card-work. Last but not least John Scarne. Who was a magician and wrote books on gambling and worked for casino's. And has a legendary story about an ace cutting that is still talked about today.

As far as culling Vernon and the Dads Stevens cull talk is about as legendary as John Scarne's - Scarne's aces routine. I don't care if the Stevens cull, seconds, centers, bottoms, the punch is used to cheat in card games. The arguments of how useful these moves are at the card table go on and on and on.

This thread is going to be about how useful they are to magicians that demo these moves. Or use them as I do invisibly in gambling routines.

I've been practicing the Stevens Cull (as described in Revelations) on and off for a couple of years. But I've never reached a point where I could say "yep, I can use this in front of people now" (in a magic context). Would you mind filming your Cull? I would love to see a performance of it.

I have several culls on video. They are not performances in front of an audience. They are demonstrations filmed for magicians and so magicians can see what is going on. So I make no attempt at doing a gambling routine for entertainment. Nor do I make an attempt to entertain, or make the movies invisible on any of my video's.

Just go to youtube. Search Glenn Bishop Magic and Much more and I am sure you will find some.

Disclaimer - These video's that were taped five or more years ago were also taped while I am going through problems with nerve damage (Neuropathy) due to me being a diabetic. This problem still exists today.

The first application for the punch cull I did, and I did it for years. Was to find 4 of a kind and get them to the bottom of the deck for a bottom deal.

Then I added a jog shuffle stack to the cull. And made it a cull stack.

Books that have table shuffle culls. Revelations, my book, Marlo's work on block transfers. Card Mastery. Books with jog shuffle culls. Erdnase, I think Marlos Book Lets see the deck has his lessin out culls and stacks in it. Revelations has the Grismer cull in it.

Most jog shuffle culls use math.
