Many years ago I had a 4 card trick by tenyo. It consisted of 4 cards with pictures of a gent wearing a top hat, all of a different colour. The trick was performed using a very basic slight and one card was eventually put into a clear / black plastic wallet. Each card was then turned over to reveal spooky scenes and the last card was removed from the wallet to reveal a vampire.

I think it was a free release tenyo gave to customers. Anyone know what the name of this trick was?

Sounds like you might be referring a Milton Bradley Magic Works trick called Mystery of the Dark Stranger which was a mail in trick.
As far as I know that trick was not made by Tenyo. The Magic Works series often gets confused with Tenyo because they licensed a lot of Tenyo tricks for the collection.
