I just picked up a set from Hocus Pocus for under 40 bucks on sale.
It's a 6 ring set of 12" rings with a magnetic key, they are thick too, almost 3/8". I wasn't expecting much but they are REALLY nice rings for the price. Key works great and invisible joints in all the rings. They don't sound great but good enough for sure. I was hoping to use them for Pop Haydn's 4 ring routine because it always bothered me holding a chain of 4 with both hands, and I think they will be perfect for that routine. They have a nice shiny finish and are very lightweight, but I think they will hold up fine if care is taken. Unexpectedly surprised at the quality and extremely happy with them. Sometimes you take a chance and it works out. |

Glad I jumped on the first set and ordered them immediately. Contact Paul or Cole at HP and they can give you more info. |

That's annoying There's always products that are so hard to get when you want them. Messado rings appears to be one of those ... I'm also having trouble with The Spongeball Toolkit (Steve Dacri)

Steve passed away a couple years ago. While he was alive, he and his wife sold direct (perhaps they used retailers as well). I suspect since his death availability has dropped off.

Breathing life into an old thread. I say search the internet for a used pair set of rings and things. I have 8” and 10”. I like the 10” best but the 8” fit into my cube table.

The crash link is substantially easier with a thinner set of rings.
I just use a cheap set of ... I can't remember which, but used to own Owens. My preference is 10" rings. However, (as I just noticed in the post above mine) I typically bring 8" to a show because they fit in my case.
