Hi,
Do you have any magic ideas to use with the parable of The ten bridesmaids in Matthew 25?

(off the top of my head and may not be totally coherent)
What if you and a helper each held a lit candle. Each of you blew out the candle but only yours (magic candle) re-lit. Your candle is an example of someone with "extra oil" ready to serve God, to take advantage of every opportunity.
If we replace "oil" with "faith", then ... what if we surmise that all 10 had oil in their lamps ... they all used their lamps until they extinguished them to sleep ... but only 5 brought extra oil in jars, then ... the other 5 didn't have enough oil in their lamps to light them ... could we make a talking point about the need to be "overflowing" with faith and not just be Christians on the surface? ... The 5 without extra oil were "Sunday morning" believers while the other 5 were 24/7 "living for God" Christians.
The unprepared 5 were not able to "borrow oil" from the others because you can't borrow faith. You have to believe on your own. They were told to go buy some for themselves or, in other words, cultivate their own faith through bible study and experience.
I'll stop now ...

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.

Thank you, Wes - a very good idea.
Stephon - I'm looking for ideas for an audience of about 75 people.

Since this parable is a variation on others Jesus told like the "sheep and goats", "wheat and tares", "good and bad fish" it is basically about separating or sorting out the elect from the reprobate. Any effect that takes a group of differing objects seemingly mixed and then miraculously separating (oil and water type) would work. Take 10 cards and mix face up (wise) with face down (foolish) and have them separate etc..
