Dearest everyone,
In about a week or so I will need to give a talk on magic and its origins/history.

Does anyone have any web sites (or other resources) they know of that could help me out?

I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks,
Stephen

Look at Burger/Neale "Magic and Meaning". They go into the origins of magic.

If you can find a copy of "The Death and Resurrection Show- From Shaman to Superstar" you will have all the info you need.
This is the book that Burger and Neale quote extensively in their book 'Magic and Meaning"
Good luck on finding a copy.Mine isn't for sale yet.

Many thanks to all of you.
The only one of the above books that I could find was Magic and Meaning.
Consequently, I now have a copy right here on my desk.
Not only does it have exactly what I need on the origins of magic, it is also a fantastic read.
Highly recommended for all those magical philosopher types out there.

Thanks again for all your help.
