I think it would be horribly cruel to put magnets inside the fish. what I would do is simply have a sharp needle hidden in the bottom of the tank shoot up and spear the fish. the hooked fish would then start moving in a circle on a hidden track, like ducks in a shooting gallery.you would then just move your arms about in the direction of the track as if you are controling them.im kidding, I'm kidding!
I wonder if you could though have a clear plastic tunnel that the fish(or fake fish) are in and water pressure would kinda create a current ?seems like you would see it but, who knows. I don't think it looks like magnets either, its to percise looking |

Ok... After looking at the video again... I am of the thinking that they are real fish with some metal on/in them.
There are some splashes, and if you watch nothing but the fish after he tosses them in you will see why I think they are real fish. So.. If they are real fish, how does the system under there do all this? It just didn't seem plausible, but then I thought... What would need to be under the table moving magnets around? So if I had to try to design this thing, this is what I would try to use. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efbC2engPQQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkkvGeCeyRw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZeF-XWTEKs Randi |

I moved people and cars around when I was a kid with these…
Then it seemed like magic. Thanks, Bruce |

That seems just as easy, if not easier, than fitting six tracking magnets that can all run on an x/y axis without getting intertwined. But then I looked at the fish, and it just didn't seem like they are robots. That's when I thought about the robots underneath that could move live fish. Watch the video again. Mute the sound. Only watch the tank. Don't take your eyes off of it. If you do, you will see some fish splash. You will see one kind of freak out. And you will see one in the right corner closest to the camera stuck there for a long time. Randi |

They're making magnetic children now too.

But I am not content to say there is a plotter with electro magnets programmed by a computer. Everyones first thought was magnets. Nobody ever thought there dwarfs under the table moving around magnets. We all assumed there was a computer programing behind it. The part that has to be explained is the mechanics under the table. If you used a mechanism like a C&C machine, it's not going to work... you can't have six of them. They will hit each other. Any type of robotic arms under there are going to hit each other. That's why the only thing I can think of is the robots. They have had the tiny little insect robots for a long time. They could be programmed to do everything needed for those fish pretty easily. Have we come to a conclusion why the big tank seems to have a cover in front of the legs at the beginning. but not when they return to it? Or why the necessity to drape the table so that you can't see under it?
