What I meant was, I tried Google ad words and it did not increase my business noticeably.

And besides Al, being ranked #1 or #2 doesn't mean you will be busy. I was for awhile in the #2 spot and barely got responses from it. Matter of fact all I got were three and one of them was from another magician that is on this board.

So in reality just being ranked high in google or yahoo or bing don't really mean a thing.

To compliment SEO you also need a dynimite web site. I get calls all the time from local people that found me in a google search, and liked my web site enough to give me a call. You need SEO, web site content, and a good phone sales pitch in order to get the bookings. In order to get call backs it would help if you also had a dynamite show.

I wouked once with a magician from Lancaster named Pete. Do you know him?

It would help if I had a show. I just throw stuff together. Which is one of the reasons I stopped trying to get gigs.

Hey Jlevey, when you coming down?

Hey gman...

I recall spending a few nights in some great bed and breakfast places, when I was "much" younger... isn't Lancaster in Amish country?

Lancaster is the capitol of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, and yes there are lots of Amish farms. Many of their Pennsylvania dutch reletives live all over central Pennsylvania. There are also lots of Viet Namese, and people from south of the border. Tourism is very big business in Lancaster county, there are lots of sites to see like Hershey park, and there are many bed and breakfast places.

Yeah it is and it is also the only place I have ever seen a WalMart that has parking for the horse and buggies.
