Just ordered one of these little bad boys for £3.60 looking forward to getting my hands on it.
Many thanks to the original OP, MeetMagicMike, for bringing this to my attention.

It would be cool to have an identical (but ungimmicked) one to hand to the wise guy who asks "can I have a go"

They said the specs can not figure it out after handing it out. 👍😀 db

Oh and $40 bucks for the mentioned "pro case" for the $4 dollar illusion is absolutely a rip off. That kind of price RAPING really gets me wound up. Just greed. boom! $.02 db

He can charge whatever he wants and you are then free to buy it or not. People don't get rich by charging too much. Your use of the word RAPING is ridiculous.

People sell sneakers* for hundreds of dollars but it does me no harm. I just don't buy them. If the seller and buyers are happy that's all that matters.

*and handbags, perfume, pens...

Just wanted to say thanks for the reference to Tarbell - I'd been chasing something up about this and was really pleased to find it in a book on my shelves. One day I really will have to work through those treasure troves in detail...

PS - I love the idea of a 'watch' version of this!

Hey. Two years later and I just found this toy in my local magic shop. It's now called "The Magic Sword" and cost $6.00. I eagerly opened the package and tried it out and the illusion is fantastic.

The salesman pointed out to me that they had gotten rid of the bull graphic but you could still tell that the key was in the shape of a bulls head if you look close.

Just googled it and found it at Penguin and Fun Inc. Here is the penguin link:

Yes, I bought one recently from Meir Yedid and didn't look at the hilt closely. I just thought it was a weird shaped hilt -- just looked at it now. It's a bull's head!

Hi,

I just discovered this thread today. Pleased to see others that appreciate the Magic Sword. For almost 2 years I have been refurbishing the $5 Magic Sword by Zanadu Magic. Wish I had the skills of a watchmaker, to make it all out of metal parts.
Here are some pics of the ones I have made. Working on other styles .

I am thrilled to own a couple examples below of Eric's beautiful magic sword illusions. He is a true magic artist! If you are interested in acquiring one of these or have an idea for a theme you would like to use I would PM Eric. He is a great guy and very honest and fair to deal with.
