Hi Guys,
I have a slightly dangerous toy that I have a lot of fun with. Sold as the "flame thrower match", its basically a tubing rig to send a jet of butane anywhere I want. I can do great "magic passes" over candles and the liek with the thing.
problem is, I haven't been able to find a Butane refill lately with the right kind of top to mate to the rig. It was based on a refill that had basically a "straw" nozzle and then and adapter with the different widths of receivers that snapped on. All the ones Ive found lately have the adapter modeled to the straw in one piece.
Anyone know of a brand that does it the old way?
Thanks
JK

I haven't bought butane in a while, but the last Ronson I bought had several adapters inside the red plastic cap. I never use them because my butane soldering iron uses the "standard" nozzle, but the adapters were there the last I saw.

Ahah! Thanks for that tip, I think I figured it out.
Ronson makes 2 different kinds of refills now. The "multi-fuel" refill which is like the old one I used and what I need, and a "universal lighter" one which is taller, thinner and has the wrong tips.
I ordered a few multi-fuels from Amazon to try them.
Thanks again!

The problem with Ronson is that it is a lower grade butane. If your device is sensitive it can foul it up. It does it to lighters.
I like Colibri the best. If a little fouling doesn't bother you then nevermind.

This is a VERY simple device, basically just a holder/trigger that straps to my belt, some clear vynal tubing to go up my sleeve, and a washer and rubber band to hang ito ff my thumb.
Nonetheless its VERY effective under the right circumstances
I don't think there is anything thin enough to foul though, but thanks for the tip.

May I suggest you visit a tabacco store in your area. They sell many types of lighters and devices and the fuel to go with them. I am not speaking of the cigarette shops, but a real nice tabacco and smoking pipe store.
We have one here that sells items from all over the world, they been in business for over 60 years.

Tried a few in my area, all they had was the wrong type Ronson.
Im thinking I might have better luck actually at a hardware store, maybe.
Meanwhile I ordered a few off Amazon.

So.. turns out the cans I ordered where just smaller versions of the ones I already tried HOWEVER I finally had a brain storm and figured out how to adapt the new tops to the old connector ![Smile Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) Seems to be working and doesn't seem to be leaking
(And yes, Im a big boy and I know to be VERY careful with combustibles.)
