Wow this looks great! But people are going to be wondering at my age level "how in the hell does he have a key like that" since now and days they are cards rather then keys. but what a great effect; and I might just have to pick this one up; one question- is this good for street magic? because that's what I perform.

No. Well maybe. It's more of a "platform" effect. So...
If you mean David Blaine style "street magic", then NO.
If you mean Cellini/Gazzo style "street magic", then MAYBE to YES.
Research the Koran Medallion, and it will give you a basis to work from. Although it is not identical, the principle with the audience is the similar.

One old but good idea for justifying the Room Service key: You say it's the key to the hotel room where the Beatles stayed in NYC in 1964. You bought it off the front desk clerk when the Beatles checked out.

Or use any similar story and star, as long as it fits the time period reflected by the key and its design.

Cheers,
Jerry

I imagine you'd have a hard time making an intelligent audience believe that story.

Just placed my order for RS through Abbotts. Seems like they are the only one offering this now. I hope it's the same one referenced in this thread.

The P-Touch is a great idea. I use a Dymo Label Maker (with an assistant off-stage) and that seems to really work for the audience.
