Am I the only one not convinced by the floating card illusion? There's too much movement of the little finger, the way the card moves (wobbles at the front, still at the back) gives away the anchor point and finally the card removed to demonstrate there's no support is only waved around at the front of the card reinforcing how the trick works.

I think all the 2010 Tenyo releases are weak, especially the sushi joke!

Hi Andi,

Alas there is no such thing as real magic and there has to be gimmickery somewhere. This is the best method I could achieve in order to make a card rise and descend vertically and have a card removed underneath.

The trick you see on my youtube channel is using a prototype and not the final gimmick. Wobble can be eliminated with more practice.

As a mere magic fan I can't find anything wrong with Floating Card. I'm not a good judge as to whether its a trick for professionals but it's pretty darn clever. I don't even think it needs the card underneath to be effective.

When you think about it... the deck is removed from the box in front of the spectator, the card is freely selected, the spectator can handle the card before and after and even place it on top of the deck and if you're good (I'm not) the gimmick can be palmed off. So even if someone is suspicious of the movement of the card or believes there's a prop of some kind they'll never find it.

I'm not saying any of this to "float" Angelo's boat (or his card). It's far and away one of the best Tenyo ideas in 5 years, maybe the best (okay, so I love President's Cabinet a lot) Smile

THE SHRINKING PEN and THE FLOATING CARD are looking great.
I think ... I will buy them.

Be interested in your feedback about shrinking pen. It seems obvious to me just looking at the full sized pen (also the video performance) but maybe I'm wrong.

...What is the difficulty level?

I'm a complete novice (more of a collector than anything) and it didn't take me long to get the hang of this. 10 being the highest difficulty I rate this a 3 only because you may need to work on hand movement. I've found some supposedly "self working" Tenyo tricks harder to do or set up than this one.
