Just a quick question. How is a peek different from a glimpse? Are they just two names for the same thing? Thanks for the answers!

In the card literature, a peek is typically used to denote a 'spectator peek'. Meaning the cards are riffled by the magician with faces toward the spectator. When they call 'STOP' you stop riffling and then they look at whatever card you stopped at.
A glimpse is something that magician does secretly to gain knowledge of a spectator's chosen card. There are MANY kinds of glimpses. To confuse the matter further, you can even glimpse a card from a peek!

To confuse the matter even further: in "Royal Road to Card Magic", Jean Hugard describes the "Fan Peek" in a chapter titled "The Gimpse".
Well, for practical purposes, it's the same thing, IMHO.
My English sucks, I know it. It's probably better than your French anyway...
