Perhaps a "dumb" question but do all speakers have magnets and are they strong, example --good to use in magic?

Yes, all speakers have magnets. They can be pretty strong, depending on the size, but are not nearly as strong "pound for pound" as neodymium magnets.

Pound for pound, buy specific neodymium magnets. They're really cheap.

On a side note, I don't believe that piezoelectric speakers have magnets- but they're generally the low end of sound quality, and not used too often these days.

I think you're right. Piezoelectric speakers are ceramic, if I am not mistaken. They are only good for high range frequencies, used as tweeters to balance out the bass of the woofer. They're also used for beeping speakers.

There are also electrostatic loudspeakers that do not have magnets, but I didn't think he was talking about these or piezos...
