I attended NEMCOM this past weekend. It was a great one day convention with a room full of dealers. One dealer had a bunch of gaffed and ungaffed coins for sale. Surprisingly, the ungaffed Morgans were $25 and the "steel morgan" coins were $20.

How is this possible? the steel coins were lighter, but they looked like the silver coins. Were the steel coins counterfeits that I just didn't notice?

The Steel Morgans are copies and they look just like the real ones. The look is exactly the same. You can find them on Joe Mogar's web pages under US coin magic
