I am looking for hard to find illusion books. I own most everything on the subject. That you can find easy. What books are out there that most do not know about? What about Thurson, Keller, Lafayette. Did they ever document their illusions?

Caveney published a two-volume limited edition called The Thurston Workbooks with methods and plans for all the illusions used in the Thurston shows.

Do you have Keep the Wheels Turning?

What about the Burling Hull/Ormond McGill Encyclopedia of Illusions?

Or the Christian Fechner set?

A lot of these books are very costly.

Do you have the Jarrett book?

Which one of the Jarret books is the best. I know there are at least a couple.

The classic Jarrett book is Jarrett by Jim Steinmeyer. It has all the information from the original book, plus Jim's observations and notes.

The McGill/Hull book is important, because it gives you the requirements for all of the illusions in it.

The Albo series, including the Okito additions, a lot can be learned and get you in the right frame of mind for the thinking of how some of the big box illusions are done.

Trey, I have quite a massive library of just stage and illusion books (old to modern day). Let me know if there is something special you want to know about and I will try and fill you in.

Good luck!

I would like to finish my book on my father's history with illusions.
But things have set me back personally and a few brick walls doesn't help either.

and I just don't have ANY motivation right now.

Interesting how someone who has "almost everything on the subject" doesn't know what some of the basic books are.
