I have a Netherland dwarf rabbit who refuses to nurse her babies. I've watched one litter die in a few days last year. She just had a litter of five and seems to want nothing to do with them. Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thanks.

First I would say that it probably just doesn't look like she isn't nursing, but really is.
But since you said some have already died... I guess she really isn't. I thought mine wasn't nursing once, I went and bought a small animal baby bottle and nursing milk, and hand fed them. Come to find out, she was nursing them. But you can always take care of them yourself. Randi |

A few things I know:
Some rabbits are BAD mothers. They just won't nurse their babies. Or a human touched the babies and she rejects them and lets them die. If I had to pick up a baby rabbit I would grab some hay and rub it on my hands then pick up the baby.

Feel the babies' tummies. If they are round, they are being fed.
