Dr Sacks Dice routine, it is the best and has been around for over 50 years, and the effect is just as strong today as it was when first introduced in the Phoneix.

The Dr. Sack’s Amazing Dice routine was published in 1948 in Bruce Elliott’s “Phoenix” magazine. Bruce thought so much of the routine he included it in his “Classic Secrets of Magic” in the 1950’s (arguably the single best book in magic!).

You can get the entire Phoenix on a searchable CD ROM (about $18.00).

However a better resource is the video “Dr. Sack’s Amazing Dice Trick” (also about $18.00).

Or you can click on Reed McClintocks banner here on the Café and buy his version of Sack’s dice trick on video called “The Ivory Connection” (about $20.00). Reed’s version is the one I am currently using. I like the fact that Reed has come up with an ending to the effect.

Or you can buy Bob Sheets handling which he explains on his video “It’s The Rules” (about $20.00). His is a very funny routine.

By the way, a search on the Magic Smith web site produced over 100 items involving dice tricks! For example, on one volume of Daryl’s new tape/DVD he has a nice dice matrix/chink-a-chink routine that is very good.

Harry I agree with you about Bruce Elliotts book. I Knew Bruce when I was a youngster growing up in New York and he showed me many slights and his Brittttttt move that I still do today. Jack Carpenter on one of his videos used the Britttt move, I believe Bruce was very underated. I think you are the only person besides myself that has ever mentioned his name since I have been a member of the Café.......

I totally agree with you! Bruce is one of the most underrated influences in magic! I only got to see him work and meet him once in my life (and I was a kid!). I still remember the patience and laughter he had in teaching me a simple move (that my fingers just would not get!)

I agree about Bob Sheets Routine.

I always have a pair of casino dice in My jeans Ticket Pocket (thanks Darren,) and It's by far my most performed effect. With Bob's method, you can also do the moves with much bigger Dice, and I use 1" inch ones for table hopping and walkabout work as they are much easier for a group to see.

cheers

Check out Paul Gertner's book "Steel and Silver", which has a wonderful routine which combines dice stacking with the dice magically penentrating the cup. Very neat routine.

Hi Guys,

I have a dice routine entitled Miller's Dice. I learned the routine from Charlie Miller. It comes with a set of 5 dice and a cute little story. It has been sold in the past by Hank Lee, Aldo Colombini, and MagicSmith. If they cannot supply you, feel free to contact me directly. I sell the set at my lectures.

I always liked Senator Crandalls Dice routine, but I think it would be hard to find.

I don't know wether or not Dr.Sacks dice routine is the same as Ivory Connection. I just got my hands on Ivory and I like it alot. Very simple yet strickingly visual. Try it!

Okay, I have been trying to find the Phoenix information, and all my searches turn up nothing! I am interested in spending my cash! Could you please let me know who sells it? PM is fine, I just keep getting the strangest things when I do a search! I have heard so much about this publication, that I am starting to pull out my little gray hairs!
Thanks Smile
