Hello,
as I was looking for some spandex, in czech also called lycra or elastan, I didn't find where to buy. I would be glad for some help or if anyone can guide me to some "market name" of material that is good for our objectives, when use of spandex is needed. Thank you |

Bob Sanders sells Dove Harnesses made of lycra. You might want to send him a PM.
You can also try Ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/Fabric-All_Lycra_......Z2QQtZkm And try: http://www.spandexworld.com/catalog/?CID=65 And try: http://www.alibaba.com/manufacturers/423......ric.html |

It would seem that in the Prague the fabric you seek would not be hard to find. However, since I'm married to ballet dancer who has danced in that part of the world and used it in costumes, my suggestion is to find local suppliers of dance costumes. They have to have a source of that fabric. If that fails, try Austria.

There you go!
So many great products for magicians get so misused by the rest of the world! Scheme! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander PS --- Mothers who make dance costumes are also great resources for special materials. |

Hmmm. I needed some Spandex a few years ago for an Arm Saw and could not find it readily available (small town, pre internet) so I bought a pair of plus size ladies Spandex pants at Walmart and after wearing them around for awhile (just kidding!!) I was able to get what I needed for four units out of just the legs.

The fabric stores usually only have a broad selection of Spandex in late Winter and early Spring. They consider it a seasonal fabric, and that's when people want it for making swimsuits. By Summer, it's gone. You can find it other times during the year, but usually only colors and prints that nobody wanted. Black is a popular color with more than just magicians.
It's still a bummer that Wal Mart got rid of their fabric departments. I can't recall where it was, but a couple years ago, I found some velvet that stretches like Spandex. I bought the whole bolt! I used it for my arm amputation... hmmm... deja vu, Tabby??

Dang! You figgered it out!! I don't know why all the black Spandex sells out first. They say fat ladies make their swimsuits out of it because it makes them look slimmer. That's a load of manure. I wear black all the time, and I still look fat.
