Cheap rope at WalMart is back. #076356241952 is $1.50 for 100 feet of cotton clothes line. It comes in a box of assorted cotton line items. No doubt it is a temporary promotional item. But the first hank got me through last week.

When you cut it does it get that white fuzzy stuff all over a black jacket ?
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.

It's totally invisible if you just wear a white fuzzy jacket! Smile

Isn't cotton clothsline quite stiff and hard to cut?
I hate that stuff.

I like the soft stuff that gets all over your jacket (if you're not careful) Smile

Cotton clothes line is soft and woven. Don't get the "weather proofed" coated stuff. It is stiff and even costs more! The cheap cotton junk works best. (I also use poultry shears for cutting. They work great and look like any other shears.)

I usually work in black. The lint has never been a problem with real cotton. I have no use for the paper filled substitute.

Sounds like you found a bargain Bob! What department is it in? Might save me a trip searching the whole store.

I finally went to check it out. Neither of the Wal-Marts here carry the cotton rope, just the nylon kind, which is labeled 'synthetic'. No cheap cotton rope for me. Smile

I'm going to try the farm supply store. I'll bet they have it.

I found some in the arts and crafts dept. in mount airy, nc. it was .87 a yard. This must be the more expensive option that Bob was talking about. If we have it in Mount Airy they should have it in any one of the Wal-Marts. We are a small small town.

Thanks Podcastrant, but that IS a more expensive option.

Bob found a great deal on rope (different than what you found) that does not seem to be available in all WalMart's. Mine also has rope, just not what Bob was able to find.

The farm supply store had some. Unfortunately, it's a 'natural' color, not white. Also, the core is three strands of nylon instead of a single core, so it's kind of hard to core. It's much stiffer than the few small hunks of old white solid-core cotton rope I still have lying around from years ago. So it's usable, but not ideal. Guess I'll try the craft store next.
