PARADOX BILL
It is sold as a puzzle. You show a dollar bill cut into 4 irregular pieces. You assemble the pieces to form a dollar bill (face down). You collect the pieces hand them to the spectator face up and ask him to assemble them. When he does, there is a piece missing that would be George's face. The 5th piece hidden until now completes the puzzle.

You could do it as a "you can't do as I do therefore I'm magic" thing.
You could claim to have made the extra peice that you need vanish. You could make a bunch of cards that have peices of a dollar bill glued to them and force the card that has georges face on it. Then assemble the puzzle and suddenly realize you did it upside down. You then pass the peices to the spec and the peice of the dollar bill that they had "freely" chosen is missing. I think I saw something like the paradox bill in a math book somewhere. -Vincenzo |

Show the front of the bill with the 5 pieces making up the dollar. Turn the pieces over and have them assemble the bill. Make a political comment about Clinton leaving Washington. Not much magic, but entertaining to Republicans. Seriously, I've thought about Paradox Bill and all I can come up with are puzzle type effects. I'd be interested in any magical uses also. Dale Hoyt |

Reviving a very old thread.
I have been intrigued by the Paradox effects for awhile and own a number of them (including Where's Tom by Harry Anderson which a a Paradox bill) I was wondering if anyone has instructions on how to make your own Paradox dollar. I have experimented, but can't get a great fit, and I am not sure if I am using the best materials. Any help would be most appreciated. (I would also like to make a Paradox card, but I do not have access to The Chronicles, until this Covid-19 pandemic gets better. Any instructions on that would also be appreciated.) |
